Not correct at all he's always on self discovery so that's unavoidable, but not lack of purpose I guarantee it. And yes most of the comments on the manga site do say why not end it here lol, I love this manga so never enough of it.

What's left is how he will revive his friends in the present times so they can live a good life together and figuring things out about how to live and how he knockers will now respond. He beat the knockers in a way, but that doesn't mean they won't try something again in the present. And after the present, there will be a future arc, which plays in the distant future, which is the current manga arc.

i guess from a purely human perspective he's done doing stuff. but he has reached another level of existence now. it's gonna be much harder to relate.

BIG spoilers ahead: More of the season 1 and start of season 2 descendants, they are now all in the new era, most of the dead are back and in school, turns out the thing he's fighting are now microscopic per say and some are becoming people who wished to die.... the idea sounds cool, but the manga not a very good adaptation of it.

Actually what you just stated seems a bit creepy but still spike interest, another series with similar vibes mindset 'Babylon' anime touching same topic completely psychological due to state of the world. The idea was good, nokkers body snatching people who wished to die. Since nokkers want to erase suffering and pain, it makes sense for them to take the place of people aligning in their views. Sadly it was just executed terribly and most of the arc was spent on Hayase descendant drama-bullshit.
